Career Planning Course

Formerly Career Fellowship

Think about and discuss your career path,
your strengths, uncertainties and actionable next steps

About

The Hi-Med Career Planning Course is a 5-week programme designed to help you figure out what your impactful career path might look like, set specific goals, and explore actionable next steps. In addition, you will learn different methods to reflect on your career and use decision-making processes, prioritisation, and career planning tools.

We've run four cohorts so far, resulting in more than 70 Fellows having gone through the programme already!

What’s involved?

Each week contains a minimum of 1-3 hours of personal reflection and the application of different tools, followed by 1.5 hours of discussion with a facilitator. In this programme, you will benefit from personal mentoring and further opportunities for engagement during and after the course.

Who’s it for?

Medical students and doctors planning or considering making impact-driven career changes and/or career-related decisions relatively soon. Whether you are about to graduate or want to change your current path to have a more wide-reaching positive impact, anyone from anywhere in the world is invited to apply.

  • "I highly recommend the Hi-Med Career Fellowship! As a mid-career professional, it was helpful to explore potential options for the next phase of my career in a group setting. The fellowship provides useful tools for decision-making to evaluate personal fit and impact. It's also a great opportunity to hear from others about examples of non-clinical career paths. No matter where you are in your journey, you are likely to gain valuable insights and develop a plan for tangible next steps towards your career goals."

As someone who is still at the very early stages of their career, it helped to have the tools to gain clarity and navigate making decisions on my career path moving forward. Not to mention that the course is well crafted and includes some highly researched resources that I wouldn't have come across otherwise. Highly recommend!"
